#10: Why does the technology argument matter?

As new and innovative technological devices are developed, it is essential that we consider both the benefits and drawbacks of the product. The debate over whether or not technology is helping us or hurting us continues to raise important points from both sides. Personally, I believe that because or society has adopted the use of technology into every aspect of our lives, we must accept it and work towards finding a way to manage how often we utilize the devices. Although many researchers and psychologist stress the importance of limiting how much technology our society uses, teenagers may argue that there is not a real issue because that is the way our world is evolving. However, my thoughts on this topic challenge those of many teens. There are ways to reduce the amount of technology we use or how long we spend in front of a screen each day. We can limit how much TV we watch or whether or not we use our phone while in bed. We can even improve on how often we use our phone during school or during study sessions. Technology does create benefits that our world needs, such as improvements in healthcare, but the social media sites that are available on cell phones are negatively affecting our mental health and well being.
